Liberal Tears captures a commitment to the middle of the road in a scent that is aggressively agreeable and doesn’t rock the boat. It just smells great while the ship sinks, and liberal spines melt like vanilla ice cream. It opens with vanilla orchid and jasmine as a polite refusal to take a side. The heart is soft, giving tonka bean, leading into a base where the real wealth is hoarded: sticky brown sugar, amberwood, and patchouli. It is rich, intoxicating, and fundamentally unthreatening.
